Cloudflare has introduced agent tracing as the first feature of its new Cloudflare Agents product, designed to provide observability into the runtime behavior of AI agents deployed on its Workers platform. These traces capture every model call, tool execution, subagent delegation, and token consumed within an agent turn, then nest them alongside infrastructure-level spans for resources such as D1 and KV. The goal is to surface why an agent made a particular decision—e.g., chose the wrong tool, retried a call, or passed stale context—rather than simply logging HTTP-level success or failure. The dashboard surfaces agent sessions, replays full conversation context, and displays execution waterfalls for debugging and continuous improvement. The capability launches with support for Think, Flue, and the AI SDK, with broader OpenTelemetry support planned. Agent tracing is in beta and free until October 1, 2026, after which it will follow Workers Observability pricing.
