We collect information you provide, information created by your use of the service, and limited technical information needed to operate and protect the site.

• Account information. Firebase Authentication may provide an account identifier, email address, display name, profile image, email verification status, phone number when supplied, and authentication provider information.
• Reader choices. We store followed topics, sources, and entities; recommendation preferences; onboarding choices; saved stories; reading history; searches; explicit feedback; and controls such as less-like-this or restored recommendations.
• Newsletter information. We store delivery status, timezone, unsubscribe status, dispatch and delivery records, provider message identifiers, and bounce or complaint events needed to send and administer the newsletter.
• Device-side information. We use browser storage for theme choice, authentication persistence, temporary sign-in state, a visitor identifier, local preferences, saves, history, searches, and related reader memory.
• Operational information. Hosting and security systems may process IP address, request time, route, user agent, error details, and similar request metadata needed to deliver, diagnose, and protect the service.

We use personal information only for purposes connected to operating, securing, and improving The AI Front Page.

• Provide public news pages, account features, saved stories, reading history, search, follows, and reader controls.
• Build a personalized ranking from explicit interests and meaningful reader actions, and explain why a story was recommended.
• Send the newsletter, honor timezone and unsubscribe settings, and suppress delivery after bounces or complaints.
• Maintain service reliability, prevent abuse, investigate errors, and protect accounts and infrastructure.
• Respond to support, privacy, legal, and correction requests and comply with applicable obligations.

Depending on where you live, privacy law may require us to identify a legal basis for processing. We rely on performance of the service you request, our legitimate interests in operating and securing a useful news reader, consent where the law requires it, and compliance with legal obligations. You may withdraw newsletter consent by using the unsubscribe link in any newsletter.

Personalized ranking organizes what you see, but it does not make decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you.

The current AI enrichment pipeline processes public news content and related story metadata for tasks such as summaries, rewriting, embeddings, and illustrative images. It is not designed to send your account profile, private reading history, saved stories, or newsletter settings to an AI model provider.

Personalization and editorial rules are deterministic application logic. They are not delegated to a general-purpose model prompt. See the Editorial and AI Policy for more detail about summaries, images, ranking, attribution, and corrections.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for cross-site behavioral advertising. We disclose information to service providers only as needed for their work, subject to their contracts and privacy terms.

• Firebase provides authentication and browser-side sign-in persistence.
• Railway provides application hosting and operational infrastructure.
• PostgreSQL infrastructure stores account-linked preferences, reader records, newsletter state, and operational data.
• Resend delivers newsletters and reports delivery, bounce, and complaint events.
• OpenAI provides current model services for processing public news content and related media tasks.
• Object storage providers store generated or normalized media used by the service.

Stories link to publishers and other third-party sites. When you follow an external link, that site may receive your IP address, browser information, and referrer according to its own privacy policy. We do not control third-party sites or their data practices.

We keep information while it is needed to provide the service, preserve the settings you chose, maintain security and reliability, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and support reasonable backups. The exact period depends on the record and why it exists.

You can remove many reader signals through product controls or clear device-side data in your browser. We may retain unsubscribe, bounce, complaint, and suppression records after other newsletter data is removed so that we can continue to honor your delivery choice and protect sender reputation.

You can use the public service without signing in, change follows and recommendation controls, remove saved or read items, clear browser storage, sign out, and unsubscribe from newsletters at any time.

Depending on local law, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or receive a copy of personal information. You may also withdraw consent and complain to the privacy regulator where you live. Contact us to make a request. We may need to verify your identity before acting on it.

We use technical and organizational safeguards intended to protect information, including authenticated access, provider controls, and limited service boundaries. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.

Our service providers may process information in countries other than yours. Where applicable law requires transfer safeguards, we rely on the provider terms and lawful transfer mechanisms available for that processing.

The service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can review and remove it. A higher minimum age may apply where local law requires it.

We will update this page when our data practices materially change. The effective date at the top shows when this version took effect. If a change materially affects how we use existing personal information, we will provide additional notice when required.
